My layout chosen

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!!

Angie Lucas of Ella Publishing emailed me today....

Hi Angie!
I'd love to feature this fun digital page in our July Editor's note at Ella Publishing Co.! It's so much fun...I love the photo-collage approach!

Just a couple of questions:
It appears that you have two sons, correct?
What would you say is the farthest you've had to travel from home for your staycations?

Other than that, I believe I have all the info I need from your submission (thank you!). In return, please enjoy a coupon code for a free eBook, up to $6.99.
Thank you!!!

Recent Projects

This is a digital layout I made using Zoe Pearn's Alphabet Soup found at Sweet Shoppe Designs. I posted it to Big Picture Scrapbooking's gallery, it was the first layout of the "month of daily giveaways" chosen by Stacy Julian to win a class at the site. She gave me the class, Being a Mom. I was so thrilled and honored to be chosen. I had actually wanted to take this class. Below is the final project I made from the class.

I used a Creative Memories paper album kit that I already had to create the mini album. The kit was actually from valentines a few years back, but I thought it worked.

This is the Ali Edwards annual "Week in the Life" project that I participated in this year. I really enjoyed documenting our everyday life that did not include holidays or special occasions. I would like to do this project every year, because our lives will be different in one year.....nothing stays the same. For my project I made an 8x8 soft cover digital storybook printed by Creative Memories Photo Center. The digital kit I used is called 8 Days a Week by Sweet Digi Scraps.

Here is the memory book that Hunter had to make for a class. I helped him with the design and decoration of it. The artwork is from the Enjoy the Moment kit by Sahlin Studios at ScrapMatters.

I am currently taking an online class at Big Picture Scrapbooking

Saving Your Sanity: Summer Travel
taught by Jen Mohler

As a pre-class project we were instructed to decorate a magazine sorter to store all our travel papers and supplies for vacations as well as local day trips. Then for week one we were to cover a folder for papers and create a travel organizer for itineraries and such. I used Imaginisce Summer Cool on a magazine sorter from Target. Then I realized I had the October Afternoon Road Map collection. Although they don't totally coordinate I really wanted to use this collection for week one assignments. I am thrilled with the banner design I came up with on the folder. I can't wait to see what is in store for the remaining 3 weeks.

I finally created a blog!!!!

I have been wanting to create a blog for some time and have been asked a few times to create a blog, but I've been quite intimidated and unsure of what to do. So it may take me a while to get this sorted out. Anyway, the reason for the blog is that I am always creating scrapbook pages, home decor projects or just whatever that my friends say they wish they could have pictures of to copy or get ideas from. So I decided that it would be nice to have one place to share my creations or whatever I'm into at the time.

First of all I want to introduce myself and my family that will be most of my posting material. I have been scrapbooking the old fashioned way since I was 8 years old and then discovered archival scrapbooking as an adult in 1998 which really hooked me. I've been passionate about scrapbooking ever since. In 2008 I discovered digital scrapbooking which boosted my hobby up to the next level. Today I scrapbook about 75% digitally and 25% tradititionally. I have over 50 completed 12x12 albums and lots of mini albums. I love to take online classes and make projects.

Some of my scrapper idols include Stacy Julian. I love her enthusiasm and quest to spread happiness. I practice her Library of Memories system for scrapbooking. I take classes from her site www.bigpicturescrapbooking.com . I also love Ali Edwards. I love to take on her challenges like "A Week in the Life" and "Twenty-Five Days of Christmas". She has great ideas and links on her blog, www.aliedwards.com.

I am currently obsessed with shopping for digital scrapbooking supplies. My favorite sites right now include Scrap Matters, Little Dreamers Designs, Sweet Shoppe Designs, and Designer Digitals. My favorite designer right now is Krista Sahlin. I love everything she creates!...And I want it ALL!

Here are my two precious boys who are the main subjects of my scrapbooking.
